Introduction to the Academy

The World Academy for the Approximation of Islamic Schools of Thought, which includes dozens of scholars of Islamic schools of thought from various countries around the world, is one of the most important centers known for its call for rapprochement and unity in the Islamic world and has paved the way for constructive interaction among followers of different Islamic schools of thought. In this context, it seeks to bring the situation of contemporary Islamic society as close as possible to the circumstances and conditions of the era of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him), in terms of emulating aspects of religious brotherhood and eliminating the atmosphere of enmity and sectarianism among followers of Islamic schools of thought. It also seeks to expand the scope of solidarity already existing between some Islamic schools of thought to include all Muslims and all other Islamic schools of thought. It also seeks to encourage Muslims to accept the differences between schools of thought stemming from disciplined ijtihad (jurisprudence). It also seeks to encourage followers to emulate the behavior of the imams of Islamic schools of thought with one another, and to expand the scope of its implementation among followers of these schools of thought today.
